We Wear: Pineapple gown and shorts at the Odaiba rainbow bridge

Pineapple gown: H&M
Top: Mango
Shorts: Even&Odd via Zalando
Leopard belt: Veritas
Duffle bag: New Look via Zalando
Sneakers: Vans via La Bottega

My title might insinuate I only wore this outfit in Odaiba, but truth be told: this lightweight pineapple gown has been glued to my body throughout Japan. And you can take that quite literally as Tokio and Kyoto were pretty moist. I was mentally prepared for temperatures reaching 30°C but one cannot simply prepare for an increased amount of humidity in the air. Nor can my hair which I ineffectively tried to battle with my straightening iron. It looks okay here, but don't let lo(o)(c)ks deceive you.

I'm not completely ready yet to be reminiscing about Japan because it makes me...homesick? Japan sick? Everything I saw was either cute, colorful, pretty, Lorenz or Hello Kitty. Japan stole my heart right away.

We went to Odaiba because Lorenz wanted to spot the life size Gundam statue. If this doesn't already tickle your fancy, I don't know what else will. So we hopped on the train towards Tokyo Teleport Station, saw the statue, ate a soft ice, bought some shoes and hung out at the bay while catching Pokémon. We didn't know at the moment but Odaiba seems to be quite the hotspot for Pokémon and legends say the rare Lapras has been spotted there.

It was the perfect lazy getaway and we ended the day with sushi back at Shibuya at a place called Genki Sushi. Genki Sushi is sort of a "sushi-go-round" place except the sushi doesn't go all around the restaurant, it stops right in front of you via a conveyer belt after you order it on the computer in front of you. Genius! Here's a picture of me sipping miso soup with bags under my eyes:

Over and out now! Expect a lot more Japan updates in the following weeks!

We Wear: Pukkelpop Attire (wishful thinking)

Shirt: Urban Outfitters - Top: H&M - Shorts + Belt: My Mum Made It - Sneakers: Vans - Sunglasses: ModCloth - Bandana: dress-up shop

Another year has flown by and again it's time for three of the best days of the year: Pukkelpop. The weather gods are being a bitch though: rain has been forecasted and again a tent has collapsed due to some heavy wind. Luckily without any victims. So this outfit may be a bit too positive, but nothing some tights, boots and knee-socks can't resolve!

Lately I've been on the lookout for some oversized pair of denim shorts, since my New Look shorts are the only pair I own. Apparently those are harder to find than I originally anticipated so I've spend a couple hours searching before I came across this (Australian?) webshop: My mum made it and found these perfectly oversized pair of shorts for a very reasonable price! I chose express shipping and had my package delivered in a little more than a week's time. And the whole thing only cost me 36 euros. KABANG!

Oh yeah and I'm a blonde these days thanks to Naomi's (Dress Your Life) mom! And I love it! Although I'm still not used to it :D

So are you guys also going to Pukkelpop? Which bands will you be seeing?

Don't mind the bruise, I fell of a chair and I bruise like....well, a peach.

Ain't no wifey

I wore this very dark and broody outfit to go to Brussels to celebrate my little sister's birthday a while back. The weather (and especially the lighting) followed those settings, so I apologize for the overall darkness of the pictures. What I do not apologize for however, is this awesome new beanie I have gotten my hands on. Having "Ain't no wifey" printed on the middle of my forehead makes me giggle every time. Those inward chuckles really are the best.

I'm currently on cloud nine, because not only is the holiday season upon us (I'm a sucker for Christmas), but my friend who was travelling for a year has finally returned and her comeback has already been extensively celebrated. On top of that, Sinterklaas came by and apparently I've been a pretty good girl (or I bribed him of course). And for now, if you'll excuse me, I'm about to indulge in some sweets and chocolate brought to me by the good man.

What We Wear Wednesday: Pukkelpop Preparations

T-shirt: St-Olliver's men's department/ DIY - Shorts: New Look - Shoes: Vans - Headband: dress-up shop

So, who else is leaving for Pukkelpop tonight? As a yearly tradition, we will be there! Rocking our socks off, drinking some beers, invent crazy oneliners and basically stroll around at the festival grounds. There is nothing better than attending Pukkelpop for the full three (and a half) days.

So to get you in the mood, I'm showing you one of my outfits I carefully planned out for this holy event. It seems like I'm in some jungle again, pretend those are the mighty Pukkelpop flags waving down on you. Festivals scream for jeans shorts, they are comfy and versatile. This pair from New Look still works it's charm. I spotted the t-shirt at the St-Olliver's men's department. The pale hues of green and purple together with the palmtrees tickled my fancy. And there's also a triangle to add a pinch of hipster. (Yes, I actually said that.) Because it was a man's shirt, I cut off the sleeves and made the neckline more feminine. I also cut out the back some more, because I like an open back. This t-shirt now is ideal festival material: breezy, pretty and hipster. (Yes, I said it again.) Paired the whole thing off with my dear Vans and my pretty headband.

Did I by the way already mention I lost my super pretty flower headband I got at Sacha? I'm so bummed! If I don't find it, sooner or later someone is going to pay for that. In a lethal way. WHERE IS MY BAZOOKA WHEN I NEED IT?!

Come find us at Pukkelpop and say hiiii!!!

I wore the same outfit to go to the Lokerse Feesten two weeks ago. We totally got caught instagramming by Studio Brussel! We don't look at our phones ALL of the time, we just saw a really amazing show by Enter Shikari and took some cool photos we wanted to share with the world. Yes, I felt the need to justify myself (ourselves).

What We Wear Wednesday: Groezsick

I think I might be in love with Groezrock. It's the kick-off of the festival season and always stands for one of the best weekends of the year: great punkrock bands, laid-back atmosphere, Hoegaarden Rosé, the best of friends to keep you company, first rays of spring sunshine,...  What not to love! So I'm definitely not homesick while at Groez, I'm Groezsick while at home.

We were pretty lucky with the forecasted weather. It didn't rain, unlike the evening before, and during the day it wasn't all thàt cold. But when the sun set, hell literally froze over. I'm talking three extra layers (sweater, hoodie, leather jacket: that's a lot for me) and a fleece blanket to drape yourself into in your sleeping bag. Acting stupid in a crowd luckily gets you warm(er) too.

I brought two outfits - yes I bring two outfits to a festival, so what - but only ended up wearing one. My coral skirt really was a bit too optimistic, as I wanted to wear it bare legged. Instead I was wearing my jeans shorts with panties, Vans, knee socks, some black old blouse and my leather jacket. An easy yet festival proof outfit. I really love my sparkly knee socks by the way. They're sparkly! And did I already mention they sparkle?

At night I replaced my shorts with some skinnies and my Vans were traded for boots. Sweater, hoodie and scarf were also added. I survived, it's a matter of balance between dressing well and drinking enough.

Leather jacket: Zara (old) - Black blouse, bag: H&M (old) - Shorts, earrings, bow ring: New Look - Shoes: Vans - Knee socks: Urban Outfitters - Headband: Dress up shop - Sunglasses: ModCloth
Yes, my favorite jacket got ripped. Thanks Sofie! ;)

Groezrock really has been a blast! More of that TONIGHT at Karolien's birthday bash in Leuven and TOMORROW on KPM CUP! Be there or be square ;)

What We Wear Wednesday: Detox modus on

The last few days it's been all about detoxing and going back to - the sometimes annoying - reality. After four great, totally blazing days at the Pukkelpop festival, it's back to work for me while still recuperating from things that generally accompany attendance at a festival: sleep deprivation, alcohol overload and some serious aching muscles from dancing my ass off. God, it sucks! Can't complain too much though, at least work doesn't suck. I just seriously need to detox and sleep a little.

So this is what I wore on one of my first days back at the job. I most definitely wanted something breezy as it has been incredibly hot here (this is not me complaining, I will not ever complain about it being too hot) AND I couldn't just yet let go of the festival look, so short shorts it is! Not the most appropriate thing to wear on the work floor, but hey, the top is quite sophisticated, no? Besides, during the holiday months everything gets to be a little bit more relaxed, at least in my opinion. The whole "Chill, the sun is shining"-attitude, you know.

Both the purse and the earrings are thrifted, I bought the purse via a Facebook group where people can sell clothes and accessories they don't want anymore (Louvintage) and I found the earrings on a very small town flea market. I totally love finding really really cheap things! Only last week I snapped up not one, not two, but THREE jackets and that for 1 euro a piece at Think Twice Leuven. I bought a blazer which very closely resembled one I almost picked up the day before at H&M. I did a giant dance of joy, because I saved a little bit of money and still had the perfect blazer. I also bought a flower jacket and an army jacket (a real one from the Belgian army, I'm so hardcore).

PS: Don't you think the purse looks like a Café Noir biscuit? I do!

PSS: Foo Fighters kick ass, can't stop listening to their songs after seeing them on Saturday.

What We Wear Wednesday: High waisted denim

I'm back from France (booe) and I'm wearing my denim shorts again. I already grew quite fond of them, and since I have never shown this much leg to the world before, you may say that's quite odd. I adore the multiple looks you can create with simple denim shorts, so I've gotten over my big legs syndrome and just put those damn shorts on. I've enjoyed some really lovely weather back at the Côte d'Azur so these shorts also came in verrrrry handy. And I'm too pleased to see that the Belgian weather FINALLY has come to its senses! This is good news for all of us who are leaving for Pukkelpop today! Including us, yay!
My sandals and hat are brand new! I bought them in Cannes last week. I actually wanted to buy some sandals before I left for France, but I didn't find any back here in rainy Belgium. But then there I was in Cannes, minding my own business and enjoying the sun when these babies caught my eye. I immediately knew that I had to buy them. So that's what I did. I really LOVE it when you absolutely know for sure you won't regret buying something. They're coral, they're studded: they're a double win!

My top is from Zara and I'm sure I don't have to explain the awesomeness. It's white, it's see-through (and therefore: breezy) and it has an open back. All the things I love combined in one. Perfection!

So I'm going to publish this now and then run for my car to head to Pukkelpop! Let us know if you're going too!
