We Are Inspired: Blondie

It is not a secret that I have a lot of girl crushes. Some of them are very close to me (like my dear Karolien), some I will never say out loud (not typing either) and others are more unreachable like the typical Alexa Chung and even Cara Delevigne but lately my radar has been fine-tuned to a fierce blonde who was rather hot back in the sixties.

Of course I am talking about Debbie Harry from Blondie. Those following me on Pinterest may have noticed my sudden attraction. And when I crush, I crush hard and it's safe to say my now blonde hair has something to do with this blonde goddess (too chicken to cut it short though). And lucky me 'cause the now almost 70-year-old Blondie will be playing a show this Monday at the Rivierenhof in Antwerp on the occasion of their 40th anniversary.

This calls for celebration and some Blondie pictures! And an outfit will follow soon but due to circumstances (still have to order the right T-shirt) I'm not yet able to make pictures. #bloggerproblems

We Want: PhD defense dress

There are certain occasions in life when a lady just needs a pretty dress. Whether the goal is to go to prom in high school as a vicious 18 year-old or to attend a wedding when you're a twenty-something, the search for the perfect dress can turn out to be rather difficult, especially when you're not the of the dressy kind. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing dresses or skirts and I would definitely categorize myself as a girly girl. However, I have extreme difficulty with finding the appropriate dress for the appropriate, elegant, sumptuous occasion. I will spare you the details of the man dress hunt of a few weeks back when all of a sudden the dress I had in mind to wear to a wedding had become just a tad too big.

Only a fraction of time after successfully finding/fitting/obtaining said dress, I again found myself browsing through numerous websites in search of a dressy dress. This time however for a rather different occasion: As I've mentioned already on several occasions - and probably made you sick of it your ears bleed - I just finished my PhD. Well, that is, I finished the dissertation, but the cherry on the cake will be my forthcoming PhD defense in only two weeks from now. As I didn't have time and the weather worked against me for outfit pictures, I figured I'd share with you some of the possible winners that turned up after some extensive searching. I present you: What I Would Wear To My PhD Defense.

We Wear: Pukkelpop Attire (wishful thinking)

Shirt: Urban Outfitters - Top: H&M - Shorts + Belt: My Mum Made It - Sneakers: Vans - Sunglasses: ModCloth - Bandana: dress-up shop

Another year has flown by and again it's time for three of the best days of the year: Pukkelpop. The weather gods are being a bitch though: rain has been forecasted and again a tent has collapsed due to some heavy wind. Luckily without any victims. So this outfit may be a bit too positive, but nothing some tights, boots and knee-socks can't resolve!

Lately I've been on the lookout for some oversized pair of denim shorts, since my New Look shorts are the only pair I own. Apparently those are harder to find than I originally anticipated so I've spend a couple hours searching before I came across this (Australian?) webshop: My mum made it and found these perfectly oversized pair of shorts for a very reasonable price! I chose express shipping and had my package delivered in a little more than a week's time. And the whole thing only cost me 36 euros. KABANG!

Oh yeah and I'm a blonde these days thanks to Naomi's (Dress Your Life) mom! And I love it! Although I'm still not used to it :D

So are you guys also going to Pukkelpop? Which bands will you be seeing?

Don't mind the bruise, I fell of a chair and I bruise like....well, a peach.

We Wear: Skort baby skort

As you can see, yours truly too jumped on the skort train. I wasn't really feeling the hype, when all of a sudden I saw this magnificently flower printed exemplar hanging in the virtual clothing racks at Boohoo.com. We all know the rest of that story of course. The first day I wore it, I was constantly chanting at whoever wherever "I'm wearing a skort, half skirt, half short. Get it? Get it?? GET IT?!". You understand that this might have driven my friends and family mad. What can I say, I'm into folk skorts. When looking at these and other pictures which will never see the daylight however, I do suddenly realize that one should not be caught on camera in compromising positions when wearing this beauty. Just so you know.
