We Wear: Sweater weather

You may remember me going on and on about my new brand crush Batoko so it shouldn't come as a surprise my wish list actually inspired me to add some new Batoko garments to my wardrobe (addict alert right hurrr). Especially the sweater has been bringing a lot of happiness, which might have mostly to do with the fact that the other item I bought was a crop top and buying a crop top in winter tends to unequivocally lead to delayed gratification with respect to actually wearing it. Who knew, right?! Sweaters like these make winter just slightly more bearable seeing as getting up in the morning and promptly removing your pajamas is already enough a challenge, even when your not necessarily a morning hater.

When I leave home early in the morning to bike to the train station, I'm also very grateful for my blanket coat, in which I can cuddle up to face the cold. Because, yes, whereas I was still bare ankled in this outfit, the past week that has been a big no-no in my book. I honestly wouldn't survive and I feel that is the case for the majority of people. Unless apparently you're a teenager, because while closely observing 14 to 16 year-olds, I realized they must wear tiny heaters in their tiny jackets and are in fact wearing skin like socks to cover their ankles. That truly is the only explanation I can think of.

We Wear: Hiking outfit

Well allright, a 6km walk isn't REALLY a hike but more like a fun trip. I didn't see myself as one of those people who goes for a walk on a Sunday, but the alcohol and abundance of food, which are an obligation during the holidays, made us crave for some exercise and fresh air. Since we weren't really hiking hiking, I thought of my suede Vans as the perfect walking shoes. They got a little muddy but did a great job.

You know what's weird? I'm not wearing my leopard coat! A couple of weeks ago I felt it was time for me to check out the SheInside webshop. I don't know why I had never visited it before so it was time for a change. I bought not only this magnificent coat but also overknee suede boots, a shirt/dress and two pairs of earrings which will all find their way to the blog eventually. I have to admit that our indian winter does come in handy as this coat isn't really subzero-proof. Did "subzero" remind anyone else of Mortal Kombat?

Anyway, the walk was great and I love this outfit. Comfy, walky with a touch of lipstick. My cup of tea!

We Wear: Holiday season

With January officially kicked off, the holiday season appears to be over and I find that an extremely unfortunate event. Therefore, let's keep the sparkle, the coziness, the flickering lights, the holiday cheer alive for just a little while longer. January is such a depressing month, so I refuse to take down my Christmas tree for now. I'm even contemplating about leaving some of the lights that I hung around my apartment up until these dark days (literally speaking) are over, because they make me so very (and weirdly) happy. I am the absolute personification of the paradoxical Grinch. That reminds me of something I saw on TV the other day, about 'normal' people who are completely obsessed with Christmas, leading to a house filled up to the roof with Christmas trees (yes, plural) and decorations. However, that's taking it a bit too far in my opinion, I would feel weird as a child of summer to still think about Christmas. Speaking of summer, can we just skip to that point already? :)

January is always and for most also a time of change and for me, it's mostly about trying to better myself. In hindsight, 2015 was not entirely my year, despite going in the desired direction careerwise and a lot of exciting and fun things happening along the road. Unfortunately, big disappointments at the end of the year kind of left a weird taste in my mouth. Either way, I can't wait for what 2016 will bring: the challenges, the laughter, the people, and all the new things I'll do. I even started a bucket list to structure those new things a bit more (control freak alert) and I won't be satisfied until every one of them is checked off by the end of 2016.

2016, let’s do this and let’s not ever doubt ourselves!
