I know, I know, you probably already saw a glimpse in our previous post. But well, my make-up was all smeared at that point and I look like a drunk retard (wasn't even drunk!). Guess I was channeling my inner Harley Quinn a little too much. Thanks Lies for posting those glorious pictures.

We Wear: Harley Quinn is my alter ego
Those who know me or have been following us through the years know that Halloween for me is like the holy cradle of costume parties. I usually come up with a costume idea months in advance and they have been increasing in difficulty and effort with the years that passed. This year was no different in the sense that in August it was clear for me that I would be Harley Quinn for Halloween. Hell, I'm Harley Quinn in real life - attitude wise that is, I usually do wear pants when I go out. Because Harley and me seem to share the same fashion 'sense', it wasn't difficult nor required a lot of effort for me to dress up as her which was quite a relief. The hair? Been there, done that, rocking the blue/pink combo. Choker? Love it to death. Short shorts, yes puleaase! With what I have hanging in my closet, I could dress up as Harley for a week, each day changing outfits. Not even kidding.

Happy Halloween!
So this year was the first year I actually participated on Halloween. Ok no, I went to a Halloween movienight at Karolien's three years ago that required dressing up. But this year I composed my outfit weeks in advance and did two make-up tests before "the big day". Next time I'm also including liquid latex in my costume and I want to organise a party myself. This year we met up at Eline's and headed to a party afterwards where they served cocktails named "poison apple".
Lorenz and I were random dead people (I really had fun with the make-up although my technique could use some polishing), Karolien and Michiel were Harley Quinn and the Joker, Eline was a pop-art comic book charactere (funniest costume ever if you ask me), Roeland was a Mexican wrestler, Kira a crazy cat that owned a human with the creepiest masks ever, Sofie transformed into Wednesday Adams, Tom was a mighty magician, Kim and Ellen were a Dias de los Muertos couple and Natalie did one hell of a job to be the cheshire cat.
Did you guys do anything for Halloween?

We Wear: Halloween & Mad Max
I'll start off this post with a few general truths that I have repeated approximately a million times by now. Yes, I love a good costume party. Halloween is the highlight of autumn in my book. I decided what character I was gonna be already in May. Safe to say I'm a little obsessed and you probably have a hunch how this post is going to go.
That being said, I was determined to go bigger and bolder for Halloween this year, something I aim to do each and every single year. A girl's gotta challenge herself a little bit. For the decorations and spending a Sunday night scaring kids, I had some aid from my friends. My costume and make-up however are completely by my own hand. I knew I wanted to dress up as a character from Mad Max, but I kept on going back and forth between a) Furiosa, because awesome-feminist-kick ass, b) a War Boy, because I wanted to scream "Witness me!" and blabber about the Valhalla and c) Immortan Joe, because he's the big boss and I wanted to be something truly evil for Halloween. Thinking about his quote 'Aaaah, mediocre' however sealed the deal as it is something I tend to identify a lot with. Decision made, mask ordered and the rest was history.
PS: I'm sorry for going on and on about Mad Max, especially if you haven't seen the movie. Though you should, you definitely should, it's one of the best movies I've seen this year, even more so if you like weird and exciting stuff.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We Do: Halloween
Yes, I am fully aware Halloween is already almost a month ago, but considering I promised last week to show you my Halloween outfit - which I'm quite proud of - and some Halloween themed party decorations, here we are. Besides, Halloween is fewer days ago than Christmas is ahead of us - lawyer out.
This year for Halloween, I decided to dress up as a character I made up from combining elements from other disguises and themes. There were really only two conditions: a) wear a wedding dress, and b) paint my face like a skull. Hence, Corpse Bride was born, although not Tim Burton's blueish one. I wore my mom's wedding dress which fit me like a dream, painted my face, added some leaves and dirt (not on the dress though) and I was more than ready to scare some people's pants right off.
After deciding upon the outfit in August or so (seriously), I went through the roof from happiness when I learned I would have an actual Halloween party (!) this year, as my sister decided - with a little bit of convincing from yours truly - that she would throw a Halloween themed birthday party. Even though I transformed into a manic and slightly crazy party planner, our hard work paid off as evidenced by the results below.
I hope you'll get some inspiration for next year and as for now, let the holidays come (but first our little tradition of Sinterklaas, obviously)!

We Wear: High waisted denim and leopard
I know, this outfit is not entirely current season approved, but I actually wore it merely two weeks ago. Yep, the Indian summer's last convulses hit us hard that particular weekend - and it seems that this weekend we'll be experiencing some more lovely weather. It may have been a warm weekend when these pictures were taken, if you look at the pictures you can definitely tell summer had already left the building. As a result, the light was either too much or too little, which made taking pictures pretty hard. However, that kind of weather gives and takes, consequently leading to inadvertently awesome or not so awesome pictures. Either way, I have to say I quite love how the pictures turned out. And whatever the pictures, my inner 90s child was happy it could come out and play once more.

We wear: A forest in a forest
Blouse: Sheinside - Necklace: Stradivarius - Denim: old (H&M) - Sandals: Sammydress - Bag: Sister (Hasselt)
However, this Indian summer we're experiencing makes it abundantly clear that all that is not going to happen right away. Not that I'm complaining, I'm still every inch a summer beach girl. This does give us the possibility to merge two seasons that mostly do not transition smoothly into one. Hello sandals with an autumn inspired outfit or bare legs on the first of October (guilty as charged). I had been eyeing this shirt for such a long time and when it was discounted to 12 euros, I finally clicked it home. No idea why I've procrastinated for so long, because it is such a lovely piece. Come to think of it, it may be the color that put me off: Orange is not
