We wear: Coffee casual

Aah coffee, it wasn't love at first sight - I'll put you in the same category as beer for that matter - but boy oh boy, you are an essential part of my life now. Yes, I can live without my daily cup(s) of coffee but only when I'm on a holiday (yay!) or hungover (less yay...). In all other cases, I need it, I want it, I'll have it, which explains why I couldn't resist this sweatshirt. I'm pretty sure it's meant as a pajama sweatshirt, but let's face it, that's way too hot to sleep in anyway and who needs a shirt screaming for coffee when they're sleeping, amirite?

Another thing I couldn't resist were these boots *insert heart emoji*. I spotted them online, ignored them, put them in the back of my mind and tried to forget about them because they were not particularly versatile and I half expected them to destroy my feet. Before I knew it though, they were discounted and the rest of the story is pretty much history. Turns out they ARE pretty versatile, if you're pretending to be a rock star on a day off, which is generally how I feel, walk and talk. They also reach a comfort level I did not expect at all!  Furthermore, they turned out to be the perfect eye catcher when attending a staff party requiring a 'Black with a touch of bling' dress code. WIN WIN WIN!

We Shop: Workout Wear

Social media on the first of January are naturally convulsing with people talking about their New Year's resolutions. No judging, I do it too, but just in my head, as I do think striving for perfection is everything. One of those resolutions for me had to do with working out and being active. Although I was already fairly active and totally committed to last year's resolution of learning to run 5k - hell, I even reached 10k, so save to say I stuck to that resolution - I challenged myself to amp up my exercises and try and reach for the stars. In line with that thinking, I also decided I was 'allowed' to invest in some new workout wear. See, one of my (many) peculiarities is that I feel I have to prove myself before I can treat myself in either which domain. In that thinking, first work off your butt in the gym/at the running track, and then you're allowed to splurge in the sports department.

However, I'm still more of the budget type of girl. I don't need to have each and everything of my sports gear to be Nike or Adidas or whatever - although I love those brands just like anybody else. I do have Nike leggings, but they are specially customized for running in cold temperatures. At yoga, I don't really need special technologies, merely something that is comfortable to be in compromising positions will do. Hence, the quest for budget proof workout wear commenced and I figured I'd share my experiences/investments.

Bascially, go to's for pretty and practical, yet not so pricey workout wear: New Look, Bershka, H&M, Boohoo, Forever 21, and Sportsdirect.

Are you guys still keeping up with your resolutions, specifically in the workout domain?

Beanie love

I don't think I'm letting you in on a secret when I tell you King Winter has reared its sometimes ugly head. It's ice cold, baby! From the moment when the temperatures start to drop and the wind starts messing up my hair, I'm in desperate need of a little something on my head. I almost never leave the house without a beanie on my head these days, but of course a girl needs to be able to diversify a bit. My collection of beanies is slowly but steadily expanding: from only one or two last year to already five this year - and winter hasn't even really started.

There are endless possibilities in the beanie department: if you want to go for a low key beanie or rather make a statement, there is something for everyone. Here are a few of my favorites (I have already gotten my hands on four of them, and I'm refraining myself from buying another one just yet). What do you think about the beanie? Are you an addict too?

What We Wear Wednesday: Night out vs. Sushi date

Night Out: Top: Mango - Skirt: New Look - Shoes: La Bottega - Earrings; Forever 21 - Necklace: market in Porto
Sushi Date: Top: Mango - Skirt, earrings: New Look - Shoes, blazer: H&M -  Necklace: COS - Sunglasses: Carrera

It was just one of those Saturdays: party planned in the evening but nothing to wear. Only one instant solution: turn off your mind and go shopping! Turning of the mind was needed to be able to ignore all the crazy, little kids who were let loose in the city. Education seems to be overrated these days. Or Plopsa Indoor got too expensive.

My elbows were itching, but I managed to find my complete outfit before they got out of hand in some kid's face. Concentration is a necessity whilst shopping, you know. I found the top at Mango. I rarely grab black clothing, not because I don't like it, I'm just more attracted to colorful and bright things. But I knew from the moment I slipped it on, it would be a keeper. Beautiful in it's simplicity, and some good old back cleavage. I already saw me wearing it on my black skinnies (the only piece of clothing where I mostly go for black) when New Look threw this skirt in my face. No words are needed, right? It's the perfect model for my figure (or I like to believe that and I'm not in the mood for contradiction, so leave me be) and I love the little tie-dye effect it has. In the fitting room I tried my newly bought top with it and I felt like winning the jackpot. I bet all of you guys have felt that way in a fitting room at least once!

For the party that evening I combined my winning combination with my new sparkly shoes from La Bottega. I've claimed once never to say no to glitter/ sparkles again, and I've learned over the years to honor my intentions. So there you go. I like the combination of gold in my necklace and earrings. It gives me a 'Great Gatsby', roaring twenties feel. But that might just be me.

The next day I was contemplating 'bout my outfit for the sushi date that evening, with bestie Sofie. But who was I kidding. Of course I wanted to wear my new skirt and top. It's so typically Lies: now I want to wear it forever when all of a sudden I will grow tired of it. I can't imagine now that will EVER happen, but that day will come. And some kid is going to regret being in the city that day. But I made an effort to at least change my accessories for the occasion. The sunglasses were a must to hide my still puffy eyes, and protect them from how bright the world can be.  It makes the outfit totally different, don't you think? Just say yes, believe me.

Now that's a whole lot of talking.

What We Wear Wednesday: Sparkly denim for fall

I really love pistachio ice cream and I've recently GOT A JOB! I started on Monday and it's hella exciting. So from now on I'm officially a working girl! I can't WAIT to spend my first paycheck on some lovely new clothes!

Speaking of new clothes, my mom and I went shopping last week: the very last shopping trip that she actually sponsored. It was her gift to me for finding a job. It's then that I found this denim shirt at New Look. Been wanting to own a denim shirt for quite some time now, and when those little sparkly studs started blinking in the corner of my eye, I was sold. And so was the shirt. (Aren't I HILARIOUS.)

One can never have too much bling going on, so I shamelessly combined this lovely shirt with my new H&M necklace. It's black, but don't underestimate its sparkle factor. It's the same necklace which I was talking about HERE. It's very wearable thus easy to combine, instant sparkle for every outfit!

The BF and I went to Leuven last week so I took advantage of the situation and asked him to take my pictures. I usually do it myself with a tripod and self-timer in the garden. So don't mind the silly or angry faces, I was constantly screaming he had to do better. I'm so nice. Thanks love!

I wore this outfit on our trip to Leuven, to sign my contract at my new job (some bling was in place, please) and to party last Saturday at Z33. I actually never wanted to take it off.

I do think this outfit is less 'cute', so Karolien's mom is proven wrong forever!
(Just kidding)

What We Wear Wednesday: Glow in the dark

So we all got the part where neon is hot. And that it hurts your eyes (sorry). During my stay in Cannes two weeks ago, I spotted the most gorgeous girl with the most perfect neon maxi skirt. So when I came back in Belgium and saw this skirt just hanging there at H&M, I immediately took it with me to the fitting room. I was already convinced that I love maxi skirts....on other people. Just not me. Result? Me twirling around that fitting room for ages with that skirt, but I'm SO glad I decided to just go ahead and take it! I'm really into not thinking too much (or should I say: doubting too much) and just go for things these days, so it seems. And that same day already I took my skirt out for a spin. I was having some drinks with friends at Genk city. Sure got a lot of looks! Probably because I was blinding people, the glow in the dark bit is not a joke, folks! This skirt makes me feel graceful and sophisticated even, I don't know if it actually looks that way too but ah well...who cares.

This is also the outfit I wore to attend the Pukkelpop Boiler Party. Just a matter of kicking off a festival in style. And with a hangover the day after. I know that Karolien already emphasized it enough, but Pukkelpop has been truly awesome, sigh.

If any of you have any complaints about hurting eyes or even nausia because of the brightness of my skirt, please leave a comment below and I'll blow a kiss to make things right.

What We Wear Wednesday: High waisted denim

I'm back from France (booe) and I'm wearing my denim shorts again. I already grew quite fond of them, and since I have never shown this much leg to the world before, you may say that's quite odd. I adore the multiple looks you can create with simple denim shorts, so I've gotten over my big legs syndrome and just put those damn shorts on. I've enjoyed some really lovely weather back at the Côte d'Azur so these shorts also came in verrrrry handy. And I'm too pleased to see that the Belgian weather FINALLY has come to its senses! This is good news for all of us who are leaving for Pukkelpop today! Including us, yay!
My sandals and hat are brand new! I bought them in Cannes last week. I actually wanted to buy some sandals before I left for France, but I didn't find any back here in rainy Belgium. But then there I was in Cannes, minding my own business and enjoying the sun when these babies caught my eye. I immediately knew that I had to buy them. So that's what I did. I really LOVE it when you absolutely know for sure you won't regret buying something. They're coral, they're studded: they're a double win!

My top is from Zara and I'm sure I don't have to explain the awesomeness. It's white, it's see-through (and therefore: breezy) and it has an open back. All the things I love combined in one. Perfection!

So I'm going to publish this now and then run for my car to head to Pukkelpop! Let us know if you're going too!

What We Wear Wednesday: la douce France!

So I'm leaving for France tonight! Cannes, to be more specific. And because I am very excited to leave this drizzling weather, I don't feel like writing much. I'm mentally preparing to get a tan.

Here's what I was wearing today to do some shopping. And I'm sure I'll be wearing this outfit a lot in France! Also because it's new, I bought the shorts yesterday at New Look and the top at H&M. I really love how these shorts are high waisted and all studded and all. They make my legs look longer! No worries, it's just an illusion. Unfortunately they are from the new collection so no low prices for me. The top with the swallows was too cute to just leave at the store. I had to bring these lovely birds home! My boyfriend thinks it's childish, I just think OH MY GOD IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE.

Vive la France!
