We like: Our new favorite outfit by SKM

Since the following is about a specific shop in Belgium, the remainder of this post will be in Dutch. Long story short though, we got invited to go and check out a highly renewed and revitalized shop with the mission to compose an outfit right then and there. Conclusion? We loved it!

No regrets. A girl can dream, right.

We like: Dolphins & Titi + the German Kid

 Club Titi Tote Bag

I kind of already had a feeling the newest Titi + the German Kid collection would fit me like a figurative glove, and not only because I'm pretty fond of the Belgian brand in general. This particular one, with teasers of dolphins, tennis vibes, soft pink mixed with mint green, caught my attention time after time and is exactly what I want to be wearing all spring and summer long! Goddamn, I like, I like A LOT! I already snagged a shirt home with me on the opening night, but there's this one sweater that was begging to be brought home with me... I didn't cave just yet, but I think I already made peace with the fact that I shall have to have it. What a sacrifice this life can be. Thank God I already got the perfect sneakers coming in soon to fully complete my summer tennis outfit. More on the blog soon!

Check out a glimpse of the newest collection (not all the items we lololoved can be portrayed here, because that would be everything):

We Wear: Oversized blue

This shirt, you guys, has been one of the best spring buys so far! After seeing several blogsters sport similar striped blouses, I was more than sold. I bought it even more oversized than H&M itself intended it to be, 'cause I love that breezy and free feeling you normally only get from running around in your underwear (TMI, Karolien, TMI). I love wearing this blouse in outfits like this, where it adds a direct nonchalant vibe. But I can also imagine myself wearing it when the city is blistering hot, but you still like a bit of a cover-up in the evening to go with your denim shorts and sandals. Oh summer 2015, I cannot wait!

I have to say I have very little to add, I blame the few holidays we've had this month. I feel totally off and can't even remember the day on some occasions. And that is my cue out!

PS: Sorry for hiding my face under my hat!

We Ask: Knitted and Oversized

As you're probably getting tired of our faces on the blog, we decided to spice things up a little bit by introducing a new feature: "We Ask". In short, we'll be asking random people in our environment to pose in front of our camera wearing an outfit centered around a question we ask them. However vague that may sound, you'll understand soon enough what we mean as we introduce the first "We Ask" below starring my (Karolien) little sister, Annelies. We asked her about that one garment she cannot wait to wear this spring and summer.

Annelies:
"Hmm, that will probably be my oversized knitted vest. I used my precious Zara gift voucher I got for my birthday to get my hands on this beauty. I had been very anxious in deciding which item DESERVED the gift voucher. Ridiculous, I know, but this little pièce unique right over here, was worth every little cent of it! I was already looking for a vest to wear on breezy days in spring instead of always wearing my khaki parka jacket. Karolien and I went shopping a few weeks ago and we just bumped in it to in the Zara. And it fit like glove. Well, maybe not like a glove because that would inquire it to be quite tight. Okay okay, let me start again: it just felt great wearing it."

Annelies:
"In my head, I have already made a couple of possible combo’s to match with the vest. Turns out the knitted vest is multifunctional indeed. In general, this vest is a casualizer, that is to say, a vest to make your outfit more casual but not boring though (important nuance!). First of all, I can wear it a similar way as on the pictures below/above. I’d definitely opt for light colors to combine this vest with. For the next combo, I imagine myself being on holiday and ready to go do some sightseeing in the city by bike. In that case, I would wear it together with my ripped jeans shorts, cute brown cognac sandals and again with a top that’s not too dark. Oh man, I’d also wear this beautiful layered golden necklace with it. Slight problem though: don’t have one yet. Oh, I just came up with a third way to wear this knitted vest in spring/summer: on the beach! This vest might be the ideal solution to put on when you’re feeling a bit chilly. I must say, I can actually see myself go buy some ice cream at the local beach bar with just my bikini and this knitted vest on. Good God, give me summer right now, please!"

Annelies:
"I must say it felt a bit strange being the model this time as most of the time I’m the photographer in Karolien’s pictures. Finally, I know Karolien’s struggles: the funny, slightly awkward posing, the avoiding-other-people-(we-know) while doing so (Terkoest is a very small village indeed), the doing the same pose over and over again because the lighting is not good enough, the looking for the perfect setting (where are those damn blossoms?). However, I must say, despite the embarrassing moments, I had a great time doing this with my eldest sister! She’s quite the perfectionist, but now I know what a pain in the ass I can be while taking pictures of her. Some examples: “Other face”, “different move”, “put your hair back”, “fierce look”, “weird face”, and so on. But, I had a hell of  a good time!"

Thanks to Annelies for featuring in our very first "We Ask"!

We Wear: Pastels in transition

Yes, we probably all feel pretty deceived by the weather gods. Giving us a taste of what spring just might feel like - or dare I say it, summer even- to just grab it right from under our noses a minute later. The end of March is approaching, Easter is already next weekend, but the temperature doesn't seem to be able to climb any higher. Even though spring seems further away than ever, I still try to add some spring vibes to my outfits, while still keeping warm enough to face the world. And what better way to do so then by means of pastel colors everywhere! And I'm a sucker for pastels, not in the very least for soft bubble gum pink pastels - swoon

So weather gods, don't keep us waiting anymore, it's time to break out of our cocoons and into our spring attire. Because, face it, everything's better when the sun's out. People smile more, life is easier and the world seems a better place. In the meantime, break out those pastels! Or do you have any tips on how to survive these days waiting for springtime?

We Want: White kicks

With the holidays and January (aka most depressing month in the history of mankind - no, I do not have a tendency to dramatize) long behind us, I feel February is just launching us home straight to - dare I say it - spring. Don't get me wrong, I haven't been living with my head in the sand, I do realize it is BIT(ch)ING cold. But my experience tells me that spring will arrive sooner than you might think. Add with that a little bit wishful thinking, et voilĂ , you'll comprehend the topic of today's blog post.

One of the most important things in life (you know, superficial life, aside from peace, solidarity, the environment, equality...) are shoes. Especially when slowly sliding into early spring mode, these shoes primarily need to be warm enough whilst blending in with your spring wardrobe. Let me let you in on a secret, I think I have found this white raven (pun intended) amongst shoes: the white sneaker. Yes, it has already been making quite a few impressive appearances, but I predict that no self-respecting girl (or boy for that matter) will be able to live without these precious the upcoming months. They are the perfect transitional shoe from winter to spring, since you can already start wearing them as of now (at least when it's not snowing and your feet don't freeze like mine do when the temperature drops). Take a look at some stunners I'm thinking about purchasing.

Sneakers
Reebok, Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Adidas                                         Nike, Adidas, Adidas, Converse, Nike

And if that doesn't make you want to run to the website of Zalando and click some of these babies home, then you will most certainly feel this urge when browsing through these inspirational pictures below.

What do you think?
