We Wear: Sweatpants

I'm wearing:
T-shirt: H&M (old)
Skinny jeans: H&M (old)
Sneakers: Tango via La Bottega
Duffle bag: New Look via Zalando
Sunglasses: Komono

No, I'm not writing a blog post about actual sweat pants. But as it was a million degrees when shooting this outfit, this title is appropriate. Belgian weather really is a challenge and it makes it really hard to dress accordingly. We've had an abundance of rain the past weeks, with flooded villages and closed down streets, with temperatures more applicable for fall. Followed by a sunny Sunday where we had to seek shelter in the shade and eat some icecream to actually cool down. We decided to grab some wine at the Wijnfeesten near the the beautiful castle of Duras. I chose a rather casual outfit but these skinny jeans really were to hot and my white sneakers got all muddy because the territory around the castle was still pretty soggy from all the rain. I saw women in dresses and heels fighting the mud and others in rain boots fighting the heat. I'm not sure which was the best option. It's this Belgian weather that just keeps you guessing.

I also cut my hair short and dyed it sort of purple. I'm over the high maintenance that goes along with blonde / platinum hair and all that bleach hasn't been really nice for my long locks. I can't wait to have a long pony tail again though...

The issue with the not so crisp pictures has not yet been resolved as you may have noticed... I bought a new lens (Sigma Art 35mm 1.4) and everytime I export these pictures in Lightroom like I do my others, the quality and sharpness disappears. When I don't resize them they are ok but when I upload them and let blogger resize them via picture size the same thing happens. Anyone any idea?

We like: Dolphins & Titi + the German Kid

 Club Titi Tote Bag

I kind of already had a feeling the newest Titi + the German Kid collection would fit me like a figurative glove, and not only because I'm pretty fond of the Belgian brand in general. This particular one, with teasers of dolphins, tennis vibes, soft pink mixed with mint green, caught my attention time after time and is exactly what I want to be wearing all spring and summer long! Goddamn, I like, I like A LOT! I already snagged a shirt home with me on the opening night, but there's this one sweater that was begging to be brought home with me... I didn't cave just yet, but I think I already made peace with the fact that I shall have to have it. What a sacrifice this life can be. Thank God I already got the perfect sneakers coming in soon to fully complete my summer tennis outfit. More on the blog soon!

Check out a glimpse of the newest collection (not all the items we lololoved can be portrayed here, because that would be everything):

We Are Inspired: SS14 Mood board

With the end of February in sight and the sun popping up every now and then, yours truly is slowly starting to think about spring and summer. Over the past couple of weeks, I started pinning like crazy and thought I'd share some of my spring/summer mood board with you guys. Key words are 90's, denim, flowers, pink, dark colors, bare legs, chunky shoes, hats, sneakers...

May you feel as inspired as I'm feeling on this particular lovely Sunday afternoon!
Oh, and spring, will you hurry up already? Thanks!

Enjoy your Sunday!

I laughed so hard with this picture of Full House's Deejay.

The end of summer.

While Karolien is dreaming of summer to go on forever, I'm ready to close that door and start a new chapter season. I love summer and everything that goes with it: sunshine, swimming, skirts, festivals, hanging out with friends 'till midnight, vacation, bare legs, dresses, sipping cocktails and so on and so on. And let's admit, summer 2013 has been outrageously great!

But it's starting to be time to let go of this wonderful season. So let summer end in beauty and make room for the beginning of another beautiful and colorful season: fall. My mind has been in fall mood for the past two weeks already (expect some fallspiration and outfits on that behalf) and I'm really looking forward to see the trees change from fresh green to fiery red hues.

Some other fall related news: job hunting season has opened again. My previous job had been temporary so I'm back on the market! Just letting you know, in case you want to hire me.

But before we completely say goodbye to summer, let's look back once more and laugh at the memories. Because life is only as good as the memories we make. Thank you, The Ataris.

Apparently I take a lot of pictures of the sky and my booze. I like the sky, so what?

Is there anything more fun than meeting up with friends and having the time of your life? I'd say no. So treasure your friendships, respect their secrets and love them unconditionally. AND ACT CRAZY TOGETHER! (The end of summer is making me mellow.)

At the beginning of summer we went to Porto, to escape the rainy weather that was going on here. Summer overslept in Belgium but no big deal, she made up for it more than enough! At the end of summer we went to Pukkelpop which also feels like being on holiday. Definitely my two favorite summer 2013 activities: a superb way to kick off the summer season and a more than superb way to let it end in style.

And I also have some random favorites for you, including funny selfies.

So has your summer been as great as ours? Did you go on holidays or attend any festival? Please share your stories with us!

INSPIRATION: Neon

Sprintime Neon

Blouse: River Island - Sunglasses: Matthew Williamson - Denim, flats: H&M - Bag: Picard - Necklace: New Look

Summer (again) feels completely out of reach (hi there, freezing temperatures), but let's allow ourselves to get a bit carried away. Springtime! Bare legs! Summer evenings! Cocktails! Now that the mood is set and we are in the same mindset, we would like to update you on one of THE fashion trends of Spring Summer 2013: neon colours. This trend is actually a continuation of a trend that has already set foot in the streets last summer, but this spring and summer there will be no escaping it (as already evidenced by it appearing in different high street shops). And to think that neon colours were completely not done a few years back.

I made a collage of some of my favorite items. What is definitely in the top rank of my wish list is a pair of neon shoes, either bright yellow or hot pink, flats or high heels, peep toes or not. And my summer uniform cannot exist without a pair of fluorescent earrings, for sure! As you can see in the collage, this trend has endless possibilities and different ways of styling it. Therefore, go for it, whether you apply it only to your accessories or go all the way throwing different neon colours together and walking around like a colour bomb.

INSPIRATION: Fruitylicious

Two weeks ago, I was sale shopping in Antwerp. At Urban Outfitters I spotted a purrrr-fect citrus printed blouse. In fact, it seemed like one of my grandma's tablecloths hanging on a clothing rack. That's enough for me to tickle my fancy. My heart started pounding, my pace was speeding up and I kept my elbows ready to push potential danger (read: other customers) to the far end of the store. I felt like holding the Holy Grail with rays of sunlight bursting out when I got my hands on that blouse. Very proud of my find, I showed it to my boyfriend who ALSO liked it. But of course, all good things come to an end. I noticed the price tag on which they wrote: "Damaged: hole". And it wasn't just a hole, the whole backside was torn along the seam, so with pouting lips I hung my treasure back on the rack. While thinking of it in retrospect, I should've asked for a major discount. I maybe could've done something else with that lovely print. However, I'm not much of a crafty wizard.

But ever since that unfortunate event, the citrus and fruity prints keep popping up in my head. They're just such a fun and quirky add to your outfit. I already have this tank top with a giant strawberry which I bring with me to like every festival I attend. It's cute and fun! And though Stella McCartney already used citrus as inspiration for her SS11 collection, I think it will never go out of style. Or at least not now.

Here are my favorite online finds:

Isn't that pineapple playsuit to die for? Number two really resembles the one I found at Urban Outfitters! What do you guys think of citrus and/or fruit prints? Are you horrified by the thought, or does it make you feel nostalgic like me? Thinking of citrus always makes me thirsty.
