What We Wear Wednesday: Winter coat

Somewhere around mid August I started pinning pictures from winter coats. Mostly because I always start too late with searching for that perfect match and end up freezing my ass off for half of the winter season. So this year I took a head start! Because I've been wearing my spring/summer parka nonstop (and actually only stopped wearing it only two weeks ago, still keeping that summer spirit alive yeah), I had my mind set on a more freezing temperatures adapted winter version. With of course the necessary amount of fur!

The decision wasn't all that hard, I fell in love (literally) with this jacket when I first laid my eyes on it on the River Island website. A very well-timed trip to Antwerp for the Bloggers Closet Sale and Antwerp Fashion Night was the perfect opportunity for trying it on and taking it home with me. It has been hanging in my closet since the end of September and now finally, a week ago the temperatures really dropped and it was time to wear it. I always procrastinate on wearing my winter coat, because I fear that I might grow sick of it before winter has even appropriately started. Is it just my general weirdness or something other people recognize? 

I have to say I'm a bit bummed to see similar jackets appearing everywhere, but I still like mine best, so neh neh (imagine me sticking out my tongue). I think it gives me a true Scandinavian or Russian feel, but I guess that must be my general, very superficial stereotypes kicking in. 

PS: Have to redo/redye my hair, but I'm absolutely lost on which colour and if I even want a colour again... FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!

What We Wear Wednesday: Fallen Leaves

Whereas last time I was lost somewhere in the twilight zone between frolicking in my summer skin (yes, Death Cab for Cutie is indeed a great band) and preparing for the leaves falling down, this time I'm proud to announce that I too have entered fall. Bravo! You can all start dressing more fall/winter appropriate, I can handle it now. My skin is also saying goodbye to summer: my tan is fading and fading and my skin is literally coming off.

The outfit du jour is something I wore on a tremendously rainy day and will probably be my go-to outfit for all the rainy days yet to come. Biker boots, parka and beanie for the win! I picked up the boots at Primark, because I wanted to have cheap pair of shoes to go to parties or outside while the elements of nature are showing their forces without worrying about ruining my shoes. Since I kind of wrecked my other new shoes at the Heideroosjes concert, it really seemed like a smart move (plus, an extra pair of shoes). Luckily, the wrecked shoes are only a little bit damaged, they are still pretty (or so I keep telling myself). I'll show them off quite soon, I'm sure!

Come to think of it, the outfit may be a bad karma outfit. The day I wore it, I didn't have the best of all days AND I dropped my cell phone in the toilet. No sweat, I'm not one of the hipster kind so it was just an ordinary cell phone and not a gazzillion euros worth kind of thing. The worst part about the whole toilet thing is that I practically dove in to save my cell phone, which was all for nothing because it's dead as a doornail.

What We Wear Wednesday: Coral Collar

The title of this post may have deceived you. You were all probably thinking that I was wearing one of these mega-fashionable collars in a coral shade. But instead the total blouse is coral and it happens to have a collar. What can I say: I love alliterations. I could've also said "Coral Chemise" but let's not fool ourselves: collar sounds so much better!

This intro has been totally useless because I just want to show you guys what I was wearing to the presentation of the F/W collection of TTGK last friday. I knew there would be a lot of ultra-fashionable people hanging around there that night and that I wouldn't be able to top them. And it's not a matter of 'topping' anyone, I just felt intimidated before I even got there, so I chose a more basic outfit: black skinny jeans, coral chemise (there you have it) and my black polka dot shoes combined with a thrifted bag that could fit my camera. I left my jacket in the car, it was like a 100 degrees inside the Muziekodroom.

These aren't my Zara skinnies as seen HERE, I bought these at Urban Outfitters about two years ago. And however Urban Outfitters isn't the cheapest store in town, these pants weren't too expensive at all! The black isn't really black anymore though, it seems more like a dark blue now. But they fit so damn perfectly that I can't seem to get rid of them. My shoes are also from UO and I bought them this spring. They were actually overpriced (50 euros YOW), but they were having sales for some reason so I bought them for only 20 euros, SCOOORE!  And only moments later I spotted the most perfect glitter boots at H&M, the same ones as Annebeth is rocking HERE and HERE, but my wallet forbid me to buy them. I listened, but oh hell it will have been the last time! I learned one thing: when it concerns GLITTER, just go for it. In fact, let it be a lesson for all of you!
