We Wear: Weekend look

Aaah, take me back to a time, not so long ago, where I could venture outside without looking like a pile of clothes. A time like when these pictures were taken for instance! Now, we're in deep winter temperatures which make me pull out of my blanket-like clothes. If there would be something like a face beanie, I'd wear the shit out of it!

Unfortunately, freezing winter temperatures will stick with us for a while still. So for now, all there's to do is waiting for temperatures to increase again a little bit so this casual weekend look can be mine again. Even more so on weekends, I always seem to reach to comfy sneakers combined with (even more) oversized shirts and blouses. And the millions of booties I got in my dressing are crying because they feel unappreciated and unworn... Winter time got me in a rut. If it's not gonna snow anytime soon - 'cause snow is pretty and makes me happy- blanket outfits will make their entrance on the blog. I apologize in advance.

We Love: New beginnings

New beginnings naturally bring about a lot of excitement for things to come, whether it's the new season slowly creeping in, taking the step to add something permanent to your body (hint: the pictures relate to this), moving to a new place, starting a brand new job in an unexplored domain or... all of the above as is the case in my life. This quite extensive list obviously also explains me being MIA for the past few weeks as I was busy finishing everything in a proper way at my previous job, painting my apartment, moving to another city, preparing for the new job and in between leaving for a very last minute holiday to France. Just reading it makes me feel exhausted but surprisingly enough the exhaustion is mostly overruled by a feeling of looking forward to everything! Yes, it will take some time for the dust to settle, but hopefully I will be able to stick to my blogging schedule for the time to come. Hell, I'm ready for it!

I didn't have any proper outfit pictures anymore, except for some pictures to show off my new tattoo. I had been thinking about getting my upper leg tattooed since like forever and I'm happy I finally had the courage to get it done. Too bad summer and thus short denim shorts are over.

What We Wear Wednesday: Dare to do dungarees

Today I'll take you guys back to the old school. Remember those times when all you had to worry about was getting at the dinner table in the evening in time in order to not piss off your mom? Those times when around this time of the year friends came on play dates, tents were built, Barbie dolls lived a dream life, camps were set up in the woods/backyard, trees were climbed and intruders were 'shot' with a bow and an arrow. Yes, I'm referring to the wonder years: childhood.

I remember packing my backpack with all necessities for an afternoon of survival in the forest (read: our backyard and more importantly the meadows and orchards that lay behind it). A little something to drink, a cookie, my binoculars and my drawing pad with a lead pencil was really all I needed. I would stay away for hours, pretending to be an adventurist and drawing things (both real things as imaginative, although I'm still pretty sure I saw a real gnome back then).

From time to time, it is necessary to let that inner child come out and play. So why not dress appropriately when that time comes? In my opinion, there is nothing more of a typical outfit for me when I was a kid than dungarees, although I have to admit I was more into the skirt dungarees at the time.

Converses on, longboard with and let's play!
(And maybe I should get that drawing pad from under the dust and go seek more adventures.)

PS: Those who follow me on Instagram (@sneilorak) might have already noticed, but there were also some cows involved in this little adventure!

Dungarees: New Look - Striped top, neon bra: H&M - Sunglasses: Vans - Shoes: Converse - Trucker cap: ? - Leather backpack: Morocco

I'm really a kid, can't even dress myself properly

P.S.: Listen to this great song as it is quite appropriate for today's post (Iron Chic - Timecop):
