We Wear: Baseball shirt

I admit it, I'm one of those girls who likes looking at gorgeous girls with great outfits, fabulous make-up, awesome hair, perfect legs, arms, shoulders (one of my latest obsessions - don't ask), and you know, awesome lives in general. And once every blue moon, I get completely obsessed and suffer from a major girl crush. Lately, it has all been about the absolute stunner Samii Ryan: LA resident, model, jewellery designer, blogger and all-round beautiful specimen.

Before (completely) overdoing it with adjectives to describe her, I'll get to the point. Because of stalking her blog and Instagram ferociously, I felt enormously inspired by her style and that is pretty noticeable in today's outfit. I have to admit though that Samii would probably ditch the pants in its entirety. Unfortunately however, I'm in Belgium where the weather is not as it is in LA, to say the least. Also missing is a dreamy backdrop of palm trees, but at least I got the shirt to evoke some LA vibes.

We wear: A forest in a forest

Ah, October, one of my favorite months of the year, or at least from the darker half of the year. Finally time to watch the leafs change into their most vibrant outfits and cozying up in warm knits with a hot beverage. Not to mention the fact that Halloween is a-knocking, which, as I've stated before and will state again on numerous occasions, is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. If you want some inspiration on how to dress up for Halloween, check out my previous posts from the past years (here and here).

Blouse: Sheinside - Necklace: Stradivarius - Denim: old (H&M) - Sandals: Sammydress - Bag: Sister (Hasselt)

However, this Indian summer we're experiencing makes it abundantly clear that all that is not going to happen right away. Not that I'm complaining, I'm still every inch a summer beach girl. This does give us the possibility to merge two seasons that mostly do not transition smoothly into one. Hello sandals with an autumn inspired outfit or bare legs on the first of October (guilty as charged). I had been eyeing this shirt for such a long time and when it was discounted to 12 euros, I finally clicked it home. No idea why I've procrastinated for so long, because it is such a lovely piece. Come to think of it, it may be the color that put me off: Orange is not really at all my thing. I had also been on the lookout for some boyfriend denims, but something about my proportions/butt/head/whatever gives a really weird vibe. No luck in that department, but I did find in the back of my closet said pants: At one point in my life, these were (more) tight-fitting, but never really skinny pants. Now they are the perfect boyfriend inspired pants for somebody who can't seem to get away with the regular ones they're selling everywhere. Take home message: Kids, never throw anything out (please do and teach me how).

Stiletto! Pumps!

A week ago, we went down to Hasselt to have a look at some fabulous ladies in sky high heels running their asses off. Sounds a bit dodgy now that I read it like this, but actually we went to the Stiletto Run. It's a competition hosted by the Modemuseum of Hasselt where all ladies of all ages are invited to show off their running skills in high heels. Everybody can participate (even men!), but there are some conditions that have to be met: your stilettos must be at last 9 centimeters in height and maximum 1,5 centimeters in width. The goal is quite simple: just run the fuck as fast as you can! Of course, there is a price attached, so you don't have to wear yourself out with the risk of terribly falling all for nothing. And that price is really something and I'm sure it makes every woman on this planet and maybe even throughout the milky way gasp for air... a La Bottega shoeshopping coupon of 1500 euro (http://www.labottega.be/). HEAVEN!

All great and super cheers up for the ladies that actually ran there, but we only went to scoop around a bit. We laid our eyes on some running contestants with cute outfits. Think floral dresses, pastel colours, shorts, hats... Here are some of the pictures we could snap before the running commenced:

Next, the starting shot was heard and a very Lion Kingish scene (where Mufasa gets killed, you all know, right?) enrolled in front of our eyes.

The Stiletto Run was a great thing to witness and made me think about participating next year! All I need is a great pair of high heels and maybe some running skills might also come in handy. The heels are already in my possession (and I'm sure they will feature in one of the upcoming What We Wear Wednesdays), but the running skills... Well, let's be optimistic and say that I still have a whole year to boost my running! And hey, there is also a price for the most unfortunate person during the run, for instance someone that falls down. That really sounds like something I could pursue! So next year, Stiletto Run, be prepared!
