We Wear: Pastel overload

Aahh, summertime and the living's easy. That's for sure the case when on a holiday in a beautiful city like Seville, Spain. And when it all comes together so nicely - when the houses and doors are a match made in heaven - the living just gets awesome. This skirt is such an old thing, but I keep it hanging in my closet since every year I reach for it at least a few times. This time I opted to edge up the style just a little by adding some bling and contrasting it with a black crop top. Sometimes you wanna be the sugarcoat cute girl, whereas on other occasions,  you wanna be a badass. And that, my dear friends, is a little thing called life.

Our trip to Seville is already more than a month ago, but I still reminiscence about this stunning city. Definitely a recommendation if you're on the hunt for a city trip. I'm by the way so addicted: I just typed the previous sentence and with the word 'hunt', my mind strayed to lunch time at work aka Pokémon Go time! Yep, yours truly is also a fan, same as the rest of the world!

PS: Those two cuties (or should I say weirdos) in the bottom pictures are my mom and my little sister.  Eternal love and sunshine for them. And with that very hippie-esque quote, I'm out.

We Wear: Sequined Love

Coat: Zara - Top: Mango - Skinnies, Chelsea Boots, necklace: H&M

Before you say anything about my funny faces, I was freezing to death and the wind almost blew me into the canal. Nothing compared to my trip to the sea last week though, I had trouble breathing then because of the wind constantly blowing in my face. Anyone else familiar with that problem?

About the outfit. I seem to be wearing a lot of black lately. But these happen to be my favorite pair of skinnies and my favorite pair of shoes and my favorite top from last summer. Yes, a lot of favorites. My left shoe did lose its heel a couple of weeks ago.. I had it fixed already but still, that shouldn't happen, right? So now I constantly fear it's going to fall off again. Speaking of falling off: the sequins of my jacket are doing pretty well. They should have a talk with my shoes about how they do that.

Thinking about heels and shoes brings me to another obstacle: I came to the conclusion that I don't own a single pair of shoes with a decent sole to challenge the slippery wintery roads. I know, with birds singing and May bugs popping up it really doesn't feel like winter yet. But it is bound to arrive sooner or later and I have a feeling it's going to hit us hard. And I am not planning on breaking my legs wearing slippery shoes, there is a limit to my hypermobility you know. This all occurred to me while browsing through the H&M yesterday wearing these shoes. The H&M floor decided to test my ice skating skills. They aren't pretty good.

Maybe I should just go for snow boots.

B-day Wishlist

My trashcan is still overflowing with Christmas wrapping paper, yet still I'm talking presents again. I have very good reason to, because Sunday it's my birthday! Yay! To celebrate, I'm going shopping in Antwerp on Saturday with some of my friends. And unlike all of the other times I go shopping, this time I want to go prepared. Forewarned is forearmed.

First of all I want a new dress. In contrast with Karolien, I WILL dress up for New Year's Eve. Although I do also believe the whole thing is overrated. But well, any excuse to dress up is a good one.

1: River Island
2: New Look
3-5: Mango

On the list for a while now: glitter shoes!

1: Zara
2-3: Asos (bummer I can't shop Asos in Antwerp)
4: New Look

I like some good (g)old accessories, I found all of these at Urban Outfitters. The Diana camera is on my wishlist for quite some time now, I love it in that minty color! And because I'm a crazy cat lady, that iPhone case and I are meant to be.

And last but not least :an outfit I quickly put together. Actually I'd love to wear this even more than the dresses I found above! Paired with some sheer tights and glitter boots, of course.

1-2: Mango
3: Urban Outfitters
All the accessories on the right are from H&M.

Do tell me what you think!

My boyfriend's little sister got robbed today in Antwerp, so I'll better be careful. Her purse, that she got as a Christmas present, got stolen while she was sitting on the stairs at the station. Some stranger asked for directions and moments later everything was gone. Including her Christmas money that she - unfortunately - hadn't spent yet. Shame on you, thief!

What We Wear Wednesday: Christmas bells

As I'm writing this, Christmas is sadly almost over. I always feel a bit bummed, because the holidays pass so quickly. And in my book, New Year's Eve is pretty much always a big letdown, so that doesn't count. Being forced to have 'the best time' is something that always backfires in the opposite direction. This year I'm not even gonna dress up, I REJECT TO DO IT! Booh conformity, go anarchy! God, I feel like I'm 14 years old again while saying that. This year I'm going to grow up (who am I kidding, really...).

Anyway, Christmas I do love a lot, so I pulled out all the goodies. Meaning: I redyed my hair (colour tulip, but I have to admit it isn't much different from my previous colour...), put some glitters on my nails, curls in my hair, lots of gold and glitter everywhere, make-up, high heels... The whole package! I went for a little bit of a pin-up, retro, vintage, whatever kind of look. Well, I actually decided on going that direction when trying on my new skirt that arrived in the post. It's a bit longer than I normally wear, so it gave me an instant fifties vibe.

I do resent these dark days a little bit, not in the very least because it's too dark too early. This is especially extremely annoying when trying to grab some outfit pictures. No other choice than to use the flash. Inside the house. Double fail. Big sigh. Thank God for the Christmas tree to spice things up a bit. Although I'm more fond of my grand mom's tree: it has all sorts of ornaments, sparkling lights in all different colours... I'm so inheriting that!

A merry Christmas to you all! How were your holidays? And what do you think of New Year's Eve?
Skirt: Forever 21 - Blouse: Primark - Shoes: Van Dalen - Necklace, bracelet, bow: H&M - Nailpolish: Ici Paris XL - glitter nailpolish: Claire's

Rock Herk 2012: Golden Girls

Seems so Karolien was really living the good life back in France / Spain. But it wasn't all work around here either. However, it was most of the time. But I did manage to take a break and go to Rock Herk! You may know Rock Herk, you may not, but let me just tell you that it is one of my favorite festivals! Forget about Dour with all the mud, Rock Herk is the place to be! As the name suggests, this festival is situated in Herk-de-Stad in the lovely Olmenhofpark. It was the first festival I ever attended (at the age of fourteen) and I still love it to death! The scenery, the bands, the general atmosphere, it's all there. So it's no surprise that I was heartbroken when I heard this may have been the last edition - ever. I refuse to believe that though and call me naive but I believe they will find a way to make it work again next year. That's an order!

Below is my friend Eline. I love how she always manages to be absolutely fabulous. We were expecting some rain during Rock Herk (or should I say: during summer?) so that's why she's wearing those rain boots (Eline, they're still in my car!) and the raincoat. As we mentioned before, rain boots are a very fashionable way to overcome the lousy weather. Also, gold seems to be the new black. Eline and Sofie were both wearing golden blouses, my lovely golden girls!
