We Wear: Palm trees everywhere!

Seems only fitting to post a blog post with a palm tree overload as I'm leaving for a holiday as of tomorrow. For the moment, it's kind of destination unknown, although Bilbao and Zarautz will most cerrtainly be on the schedule. Adventure, here we come!

As you may have guessed, this outfit wasn't shot in Belgium, where summer seems to go on and off on us. Nope, this is another one from Sevilla in Spain. Palmtrees and the best high waisted shorts I ever bought, in the history of EVER. Fact is I didn't even try them on, mostly because I hate fitting rooms to levels nobody knew existed. Perfect fit, while it was a complete bargain. Thank you, world!

We Wear: Pastel overload

Aahh, summertime and the living's easy. That's for sure the case when on a holiday in a beautiful city like Seville, Spain. And when it all comes together so nicely - when the houses and doors are a match made in heaven - the living just gets awesome. This skirt is such an old thing, but I keep it hanging in my closet since every year I reach for it at least a few times. This time I opted to edge up the style just a little by adding some bling and contrasting it with a black crop top. Sometimes you wanna be the sugarcoat cute girl, whereas on other occasions,  you wanna be a badass. And that, my dear friends, is a little thing called life.

Our trip to Seville is already more than a month ago, but I still reminiscence about this stunning city. Definitely a recommendation if you're on the hunt for a city trip. I'm by the way so addicted: I just typed the previous sentence and with the word 'hunt', my mind strayed to lunch time at work aka Pokémon Go time! Yep, yours truly is also a fan, same as the rest of the world!

PS: Those two cuties (or should I say weirdos) in the bottom pictures are my mom and my little sister.  Eternal love and sunshine for them. And with that very hippie-esque quote, I'm out.

We Wear: Mint tutu

Well, another blog post of mine has been long overdue. Remember last time I talked about leaving for my holiday to Seville? The holiday in itself was awesome, hanging out all day in good company (my sisters! my mom!) and with sunshine on our faces. I'll get into that soon enough as I've got a few blog posts lined up with some summer and city trip proof outfits! Everything is a bit delayed at the moment because my grandpa died just after we got back from our trip. It's been hectic and sad times, but I hope everything will now slowly fall back to its place, to have a little bit of room to breathe again. I'm just so thankful for all the great childhood and not-so-childhood memories we got to share.

Speaking of childhood memories, these pictures right here are probably what I dreamed about being a kid, desperately wanting to go to ballet class merely for the tutu. The circle appears to be round.

We Wear: High waisted denim and leopard

I know, this outfit is not entirely current season approved, but I actually wore it merely two weeks ago. Yep, the Indian summer's last convulses hit us hard that particular weekend - and it seems that this weekend we'll be experiencing some more lovely weather. It may have been a warm weekend when these pictures were taken, if you look at the pictures you can definitely tell summer had already left the building. As a result, the light was either too much or too little, which made taking pictures pretty hard. However, that kind of weather gives and takes, consequently leading to inadvertently awesome or not so awesome pictures. Either way, I have to say I quite love how the pictures turned out. And whatever the pictures, my inner 90s child was happy it could come out and play once more.

Blouse: Stradivarius - Slip-ons: some store in Lisbon - Crop top: H&M - Tote bag: Titi and the German Kid - Ripped denim: Bershka - Sunglasses: Vans

Different topic. Of course you all know, October equals Halloween equals ONLYTHEBESTTIMEOFTHEYEAR - although I have been known to say that every month or so about different occasions. But seriously, I have said it a thousand times and I will say it a thousand more: I love dressing up and I love the gloomy, scary vibe of Halloween. This year's outfit is gonna kick monkey balls!  I will have to leave you guys in suspense until after the weekend though, but you can check out my Instagram (@sneilorak) for a sneak peek. Also, check out this and this if you need some inspiration.

We Wear: Holiday haze

I have a confession to make: The past weeks I let  the blog entirely up to Lies as you may have noticed. But for good reason though, as I enjoyed an awesome - and if I say so myself well-deserved - holiday in the environment of Lisbon in Portugal. The first week was all about the beach and surfing, while the last days were spent city tripping in Lisbon itself. A perfect holiday and ever so timely right after the defense of my doctoral dissertation.

However, as my outfit the first week solely consisted of denim cut-offs or a wetsuit (the latter I will not ever publish on the blog for your sake), I seem to be lacking in the outfit department. I did manage to shoot two outfits while on a holiday, which are combined in today's post because - in hindsight - they are variants to the exact same theme: black and white monochrome, also known as effortlessly cool.

Black sunglasses: Six - Brown sunglasses: Vans - Choker: Claire's - Tote bag: Titi + the German Kid - Rest: H&M

PS: I think I should live nearby the ocean, it calms me down so massively. I've been feeling so relaxed ever since spending time in Lisbon. However, as reality comes creeping in (more like banging on the door), I feel my stress levels slowly rising. MUSTKEEPCALM! Another reason for living near the shore: my hair started doing this weird curly thing. For a girl who spent most of her teen years furiously obtaining wavy, curly hair, this is a milestone indeed.

We Wear: Rock Herk

Aah, summer, the preeminent festival season, consisting of days filled with listening to great tunes and seeing awesome performances. Considering the weather was ultimately smashing last weekend, I decided to go to Rock Herk for the day. I saw some great shows (Thrash Talk, More Than a Thousand, Double Veterans...), mostly of bands I didn't know before. I guess that's what smaller festivals are all about!

Crop top: Sting - Denim shorts: New Look - Boots: Sacha - Choker: Claire's - Leather backpack: Morocco

 [No beer for me, thanks]

Of course I also wore clothes, although not too much as I spent the entire day in the blistering heat with a major headache as a consequence (and no, the beer did not have anything to do with it). Actually, I wore the exact same outfit - minus the shoes - on Rock Werchter as well. Why change a winning team must have been what was twirling through my mind. Or maybe when it gets very hot, I just cannot think about my outfit anymore. Just as likely. Key words for my outfits when attending a festival: Crop tops and denim shorts.

Are you guys attending some festivals this summer? And what is your winning combo to wear?

PS1: I hate posing for pictures in a crowd full of people. DEAR LORD!

We Wear: Mini Maxi

A mini crop top and a maxi skirt go together like gin and tonic: It truly is a match made in heaven. Especially when you're just dipping your first toe in the crop top pond, it is the perfect way to still feel comfortable. So go for it, and let's all do the crop top dance together! (Insert Hawaiian dance here)

I don't have that much to tell you guys actually, I'm feeling a little uninspired lately. I guess it does have to do with the fact that it are BUSSAAAY times for me at this point. I'm turning in my PhD dissertation in a week and work still must be done, but the end is near (Cross your fingers!). In addition, the World Cup happening at this moment also takes up quite a chunk of my time (Gooo Red Devils!). With so little time and being stuck behind a computer most of my day, I just don't feel like crawling behind it again after getting home so I've been running behind on reading my favorite blogs and browsing through inspiring websites.

Soon, very soon I will be back!
