We Wear: Bruxelles, ma belle

A while ago, my sisters and I had a what we call 'zusjesdag', which means 'sistersday' and which basically consists of us spending some quality time together. This time we arranged to hop on a train to Brussels to do some serious vintage shopping at Brussels Vintage Market - which I absolutely love, as I sure have mentioned before. It was SUCH a fun day and just looking back at the pictures brings a smile back on my face again. God, I love my little sister twats. The whole city basked in sunshine, which felt weird and great at the same time. Weird because the Brussels attacks were still very fresh in memory and great because I felt like people realized life is short and had been wanting to enjoy every single minute to the fullest.  

I was nearly melting that day, since I was very ill prepared for that extremely sunny day we had back in April. Well, it may have been a not so appropriate wardrobe choice back then, at this moment, a knitted sweater is welcome yet again. Must. Refrain. From. Complaining. About. The. Shitty. Weather. In fact, I'm not gonna complain, mostly because next week I'll be getting my highly vital Vitamin D in Seville, Spain. If you have any tips regarding must sees and must visits, do share!

It's been a while, but I'm back with a new blog post! You've seen this skirt before here but it's finally warm enough to wear it bare-legged. Actually it's barely warm enough but I'll take it. After the cold we experienced during Groezrock, anything above 10°C seems like a pretty good deal. And I seriously did have two very pretty outfits put together for Groez but that all went down the drain and covered in layers (and indeed also a rain coat and some mud).

Back to this outfit. Some time ago I decided I wanted / needed (whatever you prefer) a My Little Pony t-shirt. My search led me to Ebay and this shirt straight to my mail box. I only seem to wear it though while my hair is dyed pastel. Pony powers. It matches wonderfully with my shell purse which I actually bought to go with a tutu for a wedding. But I was never good at "keeping" things or clothes for special occassions. When I buy something, I want to wear it. So I already wore that specific combination to a housewarming and felt like a really out of place though really pretty mermaid. Goals achieved.

We Wear: The Roaring Twenties

Yes, we've been completely MIA the past weeks. But we have some very good excuses though! First, there was the soaking, rainy, muddy party that was Groezrock, where we unfortunately couldn't really take pictures of our 'outfits' as these mostly consisted of a rain coat. For some among us, even the rain coat was covered in mud caused by a bad balance in the moshpit (not pointing any fingers, but it wasn't this Peach). Safe to say not really outfit worthy, although I do believe it would create quite a few laughs. Nonetheless, Groezrock was - as it is each and every year - a tremendous amount of fun. Let's pray for some summer weather next year so we can break out the denim shorts and crop tops to give you some early festival vibes. 

Our next excuse has to do with the past weekend and is mostly my excuse: It was my birthday last Thursday, so with the extended weekend, party mode was more than on. I started my birthweekend celebrations on Thursday and only ended Sunday in the late afternoon. This way I want to thank everybody contributing to it and meeting my every need and want (God knows, I can be one demanding birthday girl). It was the best birthday ever! It'd better be, since it's the last one that I'm celebrating. Ever. 

And what a celebration it was, especially the Roaring Twenties Party I organized. Every excuse to break out my tutu is a good one (and I accidentally bought another one this weekend..). All my friends showed up in perfect gear, so of course I had to snap some shots to give you a glimpse of their awesomeness. And the outfits naturally, never forget the outfits.

We Wear: Blossoms in the rain

Already two weeks ago - time flies - we were invited to check out the Japanse Tuin (Hasselt) in all its gorgeousness. Japanse Tuin is Dutch for Japanese garden, but that only half covers what it's all about. The Japanse Tuin is basically a large garden in Japanese style, which includes cherry blossoms and magnolia trees almost as far as the eye can reach. With spring upon us, the garden looked its absolute best, and that's not even taking into account the other aspects of Japanese culture that are brought to life right there. We learned a lot about this Japanese culture and especially I was a complete noob, except for the fact that I do know my sushi. Considering that Lies will be visiting Japan in September, the invitation and everything we heard there was more than welcome. To sum up, it's a must visit for several reasons!

We naturally took pictures, but the weather kind of got in the way. After all, it's still Belgium we live in and not, I don't know, Palm Spring in Cali (yes, I've been obsessing over Coachella pictures). However, even in the rain, the pinkness of the blossoms was still so pretty, and when the sun finally greeted us with her presence, it felt like the entire garden awoke. As I live very nearby, I'm definitely going back in summer!

He spilled coffee on my top so I had to wear something of his. And I don't mind because I actually love this sweater! Lorenz found it as a sale bargain at Urban Outfitters last winter but I'm trying to slowly add it to my pile of clothes - sorry Lorenz. I'd give him something in return but my wardrobe is either too fluffy or "too metal". I went for the preppy grunge look with this outfit. I really underestimated the power of a crisp white shirt! A tomboy must-have if you ask me.

This outfit nor the weather will show it but we did enjoy a first day of spring about a week and a half ago. I was sipping wine bare-legged, that's heaven for me guys. I did not photograph the look however because I was way too busy with doing nothing.

We Wear: Proud as a peacock

I'm not entirely sure what exactly I'm wearing: Is it a sweater? Is it a dress? I intended it to be a dress, which is also the way it was depicted on the website, but I guess my legs decided - kind of - differently. Furthermore, ordering clothes from Asian websites is always a little bit living on the edge. It looks great on the site, you (at least in my case) order the largest size available and from that moment, it’s just fingers crossed that it will a) get to you in an acceptable time frame, and b) will fit you without needing to make too much adjustments. I was lucky enough with this dress that I could fit my big head in it (no joke). Besides, I'm no quitter: If I say it’s a dress, it better be a dress, so I wore an underskirt to prevent flashing my butt to strangers. And just like that, problem solved. This particular piece of clothing does seem to be a polarizing one as some people in my environment who I was sure would hate it just shrugged and others (yes I am looking at you) joked around about it ALL.DAY.LONG.  I just sat there like 'What the hell could ever possibly in either which universe be wrong with being inspired by a peacock when getting dressed in the morning?'. Sometimes you’re a black widow, sometimes you look like an ice cream and other times, a peacock is inspiration number one. I call it: Life.

And life is so much better in summer, which I re-realized last Sunday when we were fortunate enough to have our very first, real spring day here in Belgium. Pictures soon, although I must admit I was way too hot that day, in the literal sense of the word (I wore too many clothes, go figure).

We Love: GIGS! And Double Veterans

Karolien could not have said it better in her previous post. Let's never be afraid and let's never change our way of living. Only if you are a downright prick, you might just consider being nicer from now on. And what we from Peaches and Peaches love to do is go to concerts, drink our beer and enjoy the music that's being played on stage. So that's what this post is going to be about.

It's already been a couple of weeks since Lorenz and I went to see some gigs at Het Bos in Antwerp. It was a Friday night and I was pretty tired from the work week but some bands just make you push your boundaries. In this case Double Veterans is to blame for my lack of sleep. I've seen them play a couple of times before (and a couple more already planned) and I will never get bored of their dirty guitars. The crowd seemed to agree with this as they all went ballisitic once they started pounding their instruments.

I had never been to Het Bos before, I'm not really a regular in Antwerp, but the place looked really indie and they serve gluten free beer. Hipster alert! So when in doubt, I remember nights like these filled with music, beer (and free tap water!) and good people.
