What We Wear Wednesday: Birds & birds

I'm feeling quite uninspired today, so I figured I'd just share some random thoughts with you guys. I'm so happy the Belgian soccer team qualified for the World Cup 2014, although I'm not a huge soccer fan. October is my favorite fall month, because Halloween duh. I'm thinking (okay, I have decided already) about buying Doc Martens, I'm still in doubt about which ones though. And waiting for my paycheck ("Already?! But the month is only in half?"). Story of my life. With fall knocking on our doorstep and barging in like a little kid wanting candy, my beanie addiction has been resurrected (pictures here, exhibit A). I pretty much love the little collar necklace thing (do please shout out the right word if you know it, my fried brain does not) I've got going on. Matchy matchy with the ring (Check out the Vintageblues for more cute jewellery). I'm still pretty much shocked that somebody, a stranger, took the time out of her day to insult me and my outfit on a random moment in the street. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK - excusez-moi le mot - BITCH! I'm not going to start a rant here, but why in hell would somebody spread so much freaking negativity. Is the world not horrible enough on its own without us insulting each other for no particular reason? Correct answer: yes.

Take home message: Be positive (God, I'm starting to sound like a sports advertisement)

What We Wear Wednesday: Fall(ing)

Leather jacket, jumper, boots: Zara - Skinny jeans: H&M - Earrings: The Vintageblues

One last outfit starring some The Vintageblues jewelry: some lovely, subtle, pale pink droplet earrings. I own this camel leather jacket for over three years now, but only just started wearing it. The fact that my favorite black leather jacket is only festival proof these days, may have something to do with that. I can still see why I HAD to buy this jacket back in the day: the perfect warm brown color, the braided pieces on my shoulder, the neckline and the overall wonderful fit. The boots are from last winter already, but they're actually too slippery to wear when it has snowed. Ideal fall shoes I call them! I've worn this outfit to a vernissage at Alley Art Gallery, to the Bruisfestival at Maastricht (and still I had to show my ID when I went for beers), for a little boat trip with friends, to go to a job interview, for a regular girls night and for strolling around in Paris. So yes, I love this outfit and I will be wearing it even a LOT more than I already have. I may combine it with my Vans and some other earrings from time to time.

I'm also searching for the perfect pair of grey skinny jeans, but I think that these pants may be the winner when I wash them just a few more times. They used to be pitch black.

Anyone else having trouble with looking a lot younger than you are? I swear that I had to grab my ID twice in little more than a month's time, to prove that I'm actually older than sixteen years old. I'm turning twenty-six in December. It's not even cute anymore, it's outright scary.

What We Wear Wednesday: Black 'n Fur

A simple outfit today, including my favorite top from Mango, some new fake fur from H&M and do you remember the shoes? They are the result from a little DIY project we did last year. I'm also wearing a bird necklace by The Vintageblues. This pretty little thing really grew on me and it seems to be a match made in heaven with this outfit: simple and delicate.

I really don't have much to add today. I know I already said goodbye to summer, but drizzly days like today make me yearn for some sunshine. However, rain can bring some sort of melancholic comfort. I don't know, maybe I'm in an in-between state of mind right now.

Some other news: we'll be visiting Paris in two weeks! A last-minute, impulsive decision of those who have no job and therefore don't have an income (read: me). But we're going low-budget so all should be OK. Visiting Paris beats sitting at home moping, right?

What We Wear Wednesday: Forever summer

September might have taken a start, that does not mean that summer is already behind us. As a notorious summer lover, I'm always rooting for that magnificent Indian summer with the prettiest evening sunlight ever. Clothing wise, I'm holding on to those last precious moments with bare legs and leaving the house without a jacket.

Bowler hat, wedges: H&M - Skirt: Zara - Shirt: Cheap Monday - Necklace, ring: The Vintageblues - Bag: Ebay - Sunglasses: Vans

However, I have to admit that my mind is already a little bit in autumn mode. It's a natural thing to occur for me when the Pukkelpop festival is behind me and all the shops start advertising warm, fuzzy knits. That summer slash autumn feeling is quite reflected in my outfit. A breezy top and a mini skirt make up for the summer part of the outfit, while the bowler hat and the socks in sandals do their best to introduce that little, tiny bit of autumn. And I know, socks in sandals are so passé, but a girl's gotta do what a girl wants to do. Right?

Similar as Lies in last week's post, I'm sporting some jewellery from The Vintageblues: an in your face BAM ring and a rather subtle necklace. The necklace  was kind of an in the heat of the moment thing. I grabbed it, knowing that it was not something I would normally reach for. However, I deemed it the perfect opportunity to style it in an outfit that was still me. Of course now I'm head over heels with it - must have it. What do you guys think? Do you like the necklace?

PS: Next week I'm off to Barcelona (for the second time), so if you guys have some tips on what to do there besides from the typical stuff, let me know!
