We Wear: Radio Modern Outfit

Those following us on Instagram have already seen a glimpse of these shoes and my new purse. My new purse that is almost glued to my body, I use it all the time even though it's not even that handy. For instance: It won't fit my wallet, so I have to tuck my money and ID in that plastic folder that keeps my driver's license safe. My boyfriend once made fun of it and said I just bought a really big iPhone case. And he actually is quite right. Another fun anecdote related to this purse: I paid 20 euros less than what the original tag said because there was an error in the store's pricing database or something and it scanned less. They had it fixed right after I left the store I suppose. BUT LUCKY ME, RIGHT?

The dress originally was meant for another event, but due to certain circumstances (me too pale and the dress too short) I decided to keep it for a night out at Radio Modern. My paleness got solved by the heart print tights I picked up at H&M a few days before, which in my opinion match this dress perfectly. I would be too boring to combine this frivolous dress with plain tights.

Besides for the purse and earrings I am once again wearing a total H&M outfit. I really need to do some serious sales shopping.

What We Wear Wednesday: Radio Modern

So, who else was surprised when they woke up Sunday morning? Or in my case: Sunday afternoon. I got out of Sofie's bed with a slight headache thanks to the night before, only to discover that the SUN was shining. You got that right. No rain pouring down, but actual rays of sunlight were beaming down from the sky. I almost forgot what that looked like, or better: how it felt. After some hangover Chinese food in the sun, I headed home and decided it was the perfect weather to take some outfit pictures.

We went to Radio Modern the night before at the C-mine in Genk. A retro, vintage, Italian inspired party. And although there have been a lot of remarks concerning the decoration - or the lacking of any - we had a great time and shook our asses the whole night long. That's a lie. Only 'till 2 o'clock and then we were being swept out, together with the plastic beer cups, by a not so friendly lady with an even more unfriendly broomstick.

It's of course impossible to go to a retro party without dressing up. Radio Modern screams for polka dots so that's what I wore. I got this dress from ModCloth and I absolutely adore it! It fits beautifully and has the ideal length (maybe not for long-legged Karolien). I love the tender pastel hue it has and teamed it up with some whites. Whites really make my heart beat faster, I don't know why but I always fall head over heels for white accessories. Especially shoes and purses but jewelry will equally do the trick. I'm not trying to give hints for my birthday. It's in December, I'm not thàt crazy. (Although now you DO know it's in December, right?)

Have any of you ever been to a Radio Modern party? It's definitely worth it!

Retropolis - Vintage Festival

Last Saturday me and my guuurlfriends went to the Retropolis Vintage Festival, located at C-mine in Genk. As the name suggests, it's a festival all based on vintage and retro. And it was only one post ago that I was saying retro and vintage is HOT! The festival is organized by the already well-known Radio Modern and the C-mine site was the most perfect setting for their vintage festival.

We sure had a blast, but my friends kept telling me the last edition was better. I wasn't there, so I can't be the judge of that, unfortunately. This time they arranged several rooms, all representing another era: from the roaring twenties 'till the clubbing sixties. When you were tired of all the dancing, you could chill out and get your photo taken against a retro scenery (in which you couldn't actually sit...) or stroll through the vintage market. But I bet our market (look at the banner above) will be MUCH cooler! The only thing you couldn't do was eat. And we were starving! Okay, they arranged some bicky burgers, but I call that midnight-munchie-food and we wanted actual food. I'm a pain in the ass, I know. So we headed to the city center to eat a croque monsier, all dolled up from white socks in vintage shoes to fake (and HUGE) lashes.

I must say the Burlesque Revue by Follie Follies was absolutely amazing! It was actually funny and not cheap or anything at all! All the girls wore the most beautiful outfits, which they - ofcourse - also took off whilst shaking their goodies! And they all were well-curved and damn proud of their body, I'm in awe of their charisma.
(I'm sorry I didn't take more photos of the actual festival...)

OH! I almost forgot to mention: we're on Facebook nowadays! Feel free to like or to follow this blog with bloglovin' or that google thing or to do all of the above.

I'm wearing: Hair bow: Kruidvat - Fake lashes: Katy Perry (Eylure) - Top, skirt, bag: H&M - Shoes: thrifted
