We Wear: Floral

Dress: Zara - Flatforms, socks: H&M - Earrings: New Look - Watch: Casio (Urban Outfitters) - Bag: Stradivarius

This must be the most uninspiring blog title ever, but sometimes self-explanatory is all you need. I wore this outfit to attend the O'Neill event last week in Amsterdam - which has been awesome by the way, but more about that later.

You may recognize this dress from my birthday wishlist, but you probably won't because really who remembers all this stuff? Kudos if you do though! This is actually another gift card well spent at Zara, I cannot say no to some good back cleavage.

When I was mentally preparing myself for our Amsterdam trip (read: put together outfits in my head), I felt this dress needed white shoes. So I visited H&M and got me these white, lacey flatforms. I really like platform sneakers and always drooled over the ones Karolien owns, so it was about time I got me a pair of my own! The socks were a last-minute addition but I actually liked how they completed my outfit.

Due to yesterday's concert watching (Jeffrey Lewis, check him out!) and beer drinking followed by work today, I'm not very talkative but I'll get back to you this week with an O'Neill event review and Amsterdam report! Now that's something to look forward to, right?

Sunday chill

White socks in open shoes and some leopard print sounds like the most horrible outfit idea ever, but in my humble opinion, it works! I love to challenge the boundaries of good taste, and especially bad taste to come up with some unusual combinations. I was actually searching for white ruffle socks like the ones from your childhood (not mine too bad, I guess my mom secretly or not so secretly wanted a boy), but in the end I settled for some average Joe socks from a budget store. Maybe Sinterklaas - a guy kind of similar toSanta Claus but way cooler and only existent in Belgium and the Netherlands - will decide that I have indeed been a good girl and gift me my beloved ruffle socks. Or maybe not.

Where do you stand on white socks, maybe even in sandals or those horrific slippers from a decade or something ago?

Happy Sunday (evening)!

What We Wear Wednesday: Salt sweat sugar

Music is quite an important aspect in my life. I'm constantly on the lookout for music that speaks to me, that brings up a lot of emotions. In summertime, I get my regular fix at several festivals (Groezrock! Rock Werchter! Graspop! Rock Herk! Pukkelpop!), but in the oh so cold winter months I have to take shelter indoors. Preferably in the rather small venues for all the more obvious reasons. These past few weeks I've been to three concerts and in my book, they couldn't be further apart (except if I'd decide to go to a rap concert or a children's concert which won't happen anytime soon). First up was the Master for a concert in Vorst Nationaal: Bob Dylan. It was my first seated concert, except for the-one-we-don't-speak-about (youth sins, we all have them). Second, Jimmy Eat World in Brussels (the rather cool youth musings) and third, Amenra in Trix Antwerp. All so different, but so good!

That eclecticism actually translates pretty good to both my personal life and my style. For my style I guess it's pretty obvious (or maybe not, than that just means I don't take enough pictures of particular outfits). One day I'm into cute dresses and the next I cannot be bothered to wear anything other than denim cut-offs and a loose shirt. Or a mixture of styles in one outfit is also something I have a tendency to reach for on a daily basis. Contrast is not a sin, you guys!

And on that note, I'll leave you with an outfit that does not necessarily have anything to do with what I just rambled on about.

Currently listening to:
 Arctic Monkeys
Currently craving for (fashion wise or other):
A leopard coat! <3
